350 people attended Friday 12 February an important event in the Hotel Huerto del Cura in the city of Elche. Pertusa Hope Foundation is promoting a project in DR Congo, Women4Change, for women and girls victims of sexual violence.
Before dinner, journalist Charo Izquierdo -writer and former director of Yodona among other headers- Y Lorena Aguirre, head of mission of the NGO Coopera, in DR Congo, They told us the empowerment of women as a way to prosperity and stability. This dinner debate got the aim of raising awareness about violence against women and especially girls in DRC, in the South Kivu, an environment severely punished by war and poverty for years and where women and girls are the most disadvantaged. In this area the rape used as a weapon of war and it is becoming less the age of girls who suffer these abuses. From Cooperates ONGD, with expatriate personnel in the area, it is spearheading a campaign working to eradicate this problem from several fronts: the doctor attending to the victims both physically and psychologically, Also attending to their families, the awareness by involving different sectors of society in the fight against this scourge and economic raising funds to run a campaign with visible results in the medium and long term in the area.
